I qualified as a vet in 2008, after studying Veterinary Medicine at The Royal Veterinary College in London. I grew up in South Manchester, surrounded by as many pets as my parents could tolerate! When they relocated to the High Peak, I fell in love with the area. I soon settled in the Peak District and other than a few years working at a practice in Nottingham, I’ve stayed in the area ever since.
I love working locally for VetCare@Home. It’s great to work in a small, close-knit team who, like myself, have pet health, welfare and quality of life at the forefront of their minds.
It’s such a privilege to be welcomed into people’s homes to care for pets in their own environment. It’s so much less stressful for animals to be seen at home and there are lots of things we can do and treat. However, we also work closely with local vet practices as we recognise that there are times when it’s better for your pet to be treated at veterinary clinic or hospital.
When I’m not working at VetCare@Home, I work on our family farm, together with my husband. Our children are lucky enough to have grown up around dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea-pigs, cows, sheep and chickens. We’re always busy and never bored!
